STATUSProject
The residence was designed during the most critical moment of the COVID pandemic in which the opportunity was given to reflect upon basic inhabitance concepts that were modified due to changes in diverse dynamics like remote work, homeschooling, and online shopping.
The project was designed with the double purpose of being a private introverted home, that had open views to a central courtyard, while it kept the feeling of spaciousness and contact with the exterior, without losing the desired privacy. To accomplish such the effect, a water mirror was proposed in contact with the exterior of the residence, connecting the generated volumes by a bridge and provides partial views between interior and exterior.
The dynamic geometry generates a dialogue between the verticality of the window sand the horizontality of the cover. In addition, the natural materials promote a pleasurable atmosphere that endures the passing of time, and that could witness the evolution of new ways to inhabit, for which it could be adapted and modified if required in the future.
